Top iPhone Apps for Writers during NaNoWriMo

National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) is upon us!  For those of you addicted to technology, who find the idea of parting with your iPhone for 30 days to actually get your 50k words written, fear not!  Below are five (in no particular order) iPhone apps that will not only allow you to continue to get radiation poisoning from your iPhone, but will actually help you get to 50,000 words!  Best thing about them?  They're all free!

1) WriMoDemon: 
A funky little NaNo app that helps keep track of your word count.

• Keeps track of your word counts for each day.
  
• Statistics let you know where you stand and help you set goals to complete your novel by the end of the month.
  
• Change your goal from the default NaNoWriMo goal of 50,000. Think you can write 65,000 instead? Or would you rather try for 25,000? WriMoDemon can accommodate you.
  
• Words-Per-Day Mode allows you to enter the amount you added for the day instead of your novel's total word count. Switch back and forth between the standard mode and Words-Per-Day Mode depending on how you were writing.
  
• Now NaNoWriMo can happen any month of the year! Just reset the app (from the Settings screen) on the first day of the month you want to write.

2) AuthorJotter:
A notetaking App

While the notepad that comes with your iPhone is great, the AuthorJotter allows you to email it to yourself, and its generally nicer to use.

3) WriteChain:
A word count app that goes further than WriMoDemon

WriteChain is a word count tracking tool designed to remind you to maintain your writing practice.  WriteChain helps you by storing word counts for each writing session and tracking your total word count. The app also goes a step further by counting consecutive daily sessions to measure your "writing chain". If you skip a session, you break the chain and WriteChain lets you know about it.

4) Dictionary.com:
A dictionary and thesaurus

I don't know about anyone else, but sometimes rightclick > synonyms in Word isn't enough.  And for when you're out and about, and searching for that perfect word, you can't go past this app.  I don't even use it for the dictionary - the thesaurus alone is worth getting this.

For those of you wanting a more advanced note-taking app
