I really do feel like I'm juggling everything this year. I'm pregnant and due in July, I work full time, I'm setting out to query my finished WIP, Phoenix's Ashes, am planning to read 100 books this year, and on top of all that, I'm completing my Masters in Creative Writing. Which means writing another novel.
Fortunately, I have a wonderful husband and a rather understanding boss, so all of this is not as impossible as it sounds. Even so...
How can someone fit writing into their life without it becoming a chore?
Here are some methods I've been implementing:
- arrange a xbox/writing evening with husband. He plays xbox, I write. We do it in the same room so we're still spending time together ;)
- get up early and write. I arrive at work around 7.30am so can usually mange to fit in about 30min of writing before the emails start pouring in.
- I write in my lunchbreak when I can (eating? what's that?).
- I've given myself a goal of 500 words a day.
What about you? Do you have any ways of fitting writing in that you can suggest?
